No, the newest (temporary) addition to the Little Things family is not a pirate, but actually a real sparrow.  I found him in dad’s driveway.  He must have fallen out of the nest in the gutter.  It’s a 15-20 foot drop.  He was chirping away and wrigling around a bit but after close inspection seemed to be pretty ok.  Enough to think he may have a shot at living with a bit of TLC. 

I scooped him up, brought him home and… he’s doing great 2 days later!

We realy didn’t think he’d make it even through the first night but he’s a fighter.  We spoke to the guy at the pet store and he gave us some info and baby bird formula…. You should see this little guy eat!  I’ll post a video update in a day or two.

It’s so difficult sometimes.

Remind yourself. There are things worthwhile in this world… little things that make it easier to get up in the morning. Don’t let go of the little things you enjoy so much. Even when it seems the entire world is sitting on your shoulders. When everyone wants you to do more, give more, BE more, don’t forget to give to yourself. Give yourself peace of mind. Remind yourself of the things that are just for you that make you happy. Simple, little things. Make a list of your happy little things and save it for when you need to remember.

I recently went on a business trip and opened my curtains wide before going to bed. I didn’t want to set the alarm and wanted the sun to wake me up. Well, at 4:30 in the morning I woke to this:

A picture like this makes a great desktop wallpaper and is a daily reminder of one of the top items on my list, The Sunrise. This photograph was taken with my cell phone but I have some high resolution shots of the same scene. I’ll get them up soon.

OK, my Spring Break 2008 pictures would not be considered as hot as what MTV’s Spring Break might have to offer but still, for a dad… These are pretty good.  There were far too many to post so I put the pictures on Googles pictures site.
