It's kid pciture day. Not pictures of them mind you, but pictures they've made. Ladies first…
Here's Katherine playing hangman. She likes to play and it's great for her spelling and writing skills, not to mention her literal thought process as well. The first one is obvious:
This next one, not quite as obvious:
Here's the entire page:
And now Gary who is on a serious skyscraper design kick. He's been drawing them and doing some fold-up paper cutout models we found on papertoys.com He's been leaving trails of paper everywhere but that's a different story. Check these out:
From left to right, Big Ben, The Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, The White House(designed completely by Gary) and The Twin Towers. Notice the skyline behind them. He even threw that in as a background. All of this with no help or input from anyone.
Anyone know if there are Architcture Scholarships?
These were freehand. You should see what he does when he's got a ruler handy…

At 100,000 we'll have to have a party. At this rate that should be just around June or July. BBQ at Grandpas???

Well, Thanksgiving Day was spent quietly at Grandpa's and he prepared the feast.
He even broke out the goldware and fine china.
And we ate. Lots!
When that was done, we ate more!
Then of course, the cleanup. Even Princess wanted to help. Good doggie!
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

Sometimes things are just worth repeating. My Thanksgiving post from 2004:
Love to eat turkey ’cause it’s good. Love to eat turkey like a good boy should.
Which I also reused in 2005.
I'll try to do something different this year. Check back tomorrow.
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -Buddha

So much weighing down on me lately. I've been out of work since the begining of October but interviewing pretty heavily I'd say and with some good companies and agencies, but still nothing concrete. I've been considering this post for weeks but just haven't put it down. It's Thanksgiving week here in The States so maybe that's what's motivating me. But the kick in the ass was chatting online with an old friend that I haven't spoken to in months. She's so positive. Since I've known her she's been positive even though her plans have been put on hold for a couple of years because of the multiple surgeries and physical therapy sessions she's had to go through.
What the hell. I'm on unpaid vacation, not ill. Neither is anyone else in my family. I've got bills, not tragedies.
I have been positive, but sitting in front of this computer I don't feel I can do anything but hit the job boards and submit my resume, over and over and over and over. Dozens, probably hundreds of times to possible positions. It really gets you down when you're doing this and not getting anywhere. But that's the negative outlook. Every interview I go on is a learning experience whether I get the job or not. I am sure that I will land something worthwhile and soon, but it doesn't make the days go by any easier.
I made three posts for the entire month of October and this is really only my fourth for November. I started this blog to help me vent and keep a positive attitude when times were tough…
Back to the basics.
But whether we have less or more,
Always thank we God therefor.
