We interrupt our normal happy, positive thinking Little Things post for this commercial announcement. The kids gotta eat, ya know?
Now this is cool. I've got my own Little Things Store!
With some help from Amazon I've put together an online store of stuff that you need to buy right now! I actually called the thing, "Little Things You Want and Need" Catchy, huh? So, whenever you've got to do some online shopping start here at The Little Things and support my hosting costs. Or else I'll one day have to move all of my stuff to blogger.com or something and that would be a bad little thing.
So I tried to list some relevant items on the store but there are also the standard Amazon categories that you can browse or search through. I get a tiny kickback with every purchase so if you do buy something through The Little Things Store, THANKS in advance!
The holidays are coming people. Better get started!

An invention was patented today in 1893 that no one should ever forget. It's something that was invented that we use every single day of our lives… Whitcomb Judson was awarded a patent for his "clasp locker" or "slide fastener" or better known as a "Zipper" It's the Little Things, isn't it?
Other great and horrible things happened on this day in history. Hurricane Katrina in the USA last year, John Glen returns to space in 1998, The Beatles played their final tour show in 1966. hmph.
I found all this and a ton more on The History Channel's "This Day In History" web page. Check it out. See what happened on your birthday.
Sister Ana's birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Ana! On her birthday in 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous, "I Have A Dream" speech.

We're kidless. Well, that DOES have its advantages of course, but still it's not preferable. Other than the obvious advantages there are other nice little things such as being able to take my time and make another vacation photo blog without, "Daddy, watch this" or "Daddy, can we…"
I can still hear them saying it though. Or maybe I was just wishing I could hear it?
More Pictures!
Tuesday at Playland in Rye NY. A couple from the Ferris Wheel. The one with the kids is actually from last year and the other was the last picture I could fit onto my cameraphone before I ran out of memory. Darn!
Wednesday Dad took us to the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat Ride. A great day. Gary was in his glory with all the trains. Let me say one thing first before going any further. Kris and I have got two of the best behaved kids in the history of children. They play nicley even in the car for hours at a time and we made several long trips. I've never even ONCE had to say, "Don't make me pull this car over!" I sure remember hearing it though!
Thursday we dropped Gary off with his Grandma at Rocky Neck State Park in Connecticut. We spent the afternoon at the beach before we left. Katherine met her cousins that she's been hearing about for the longest time.
Friday we had QT with Katherine because Gary stays with his Grandma until next Sunday and it rained all day so we didn't do a whole bunch. We did get some painting in though. Here she is with a very nice rainbow and giraffe.
Saturday, today, Katherine went back to her mom's. We did manage to get a couple of good pics though.
That's all. Let me tell you how much you were spared. Over the last week, between myself and my Dad, we took 215 pictures!
I can't say I'll have any pictures from today and tomorrow on the rest of the wifes and my vacation. It's not that kind of blog after all.

Where do I start?
We have been so busy on this vacation. I have had the time or energy to put together a decent post until now. I didn't mean to take a vacation from The Little Things, but it ended up that way.
There are so many highlights that this post will have to come in three parts. What you see below will be last Friday through Monday. So, part one…
Last Friday - Day One:
Just 10 minutes into our vacation last Friday! Kind of reminds me of her Dad.
Is somone watching over this kid or what??
Saturday, Katherine went to Cousin Kira's Birthday Bash and then we all headed to Grandpa's for some BBQ.
Sunday we went to some somewhat local sites. The City Island Nautical Museum and the Bartow-Pell Mansion and then we went to see Monster House in 3D!

Monday at Glen Island Beach in New Rochelle, NY and the concert accross the street from our apartment
Yeah, so that's the first 3 days. I'll bore you some more later with pics of Playland, the Essex Steam Train Museum and Rocky Neck Camp Site and beach later.

Big family type night here. As you may have heard, today is the 5 year anniversary of me and my lovely bride metting each other. So tonight is movie night with the kids. "Cheaper by the Dozen - Part II" is on the little screen.
Last time I set up a online quiz of novelty songs Jill reccomended a 45's B side quiz. Well, I thought that would be a bit too tough so I took half of my old 45's and made a quiz. I give you the A side song and you give me the artist. You're going to have to be an 80's fan to appreciate it I think.
