1/17/2005 10:41:28 AM|||Chench|||So, this morning I decide to take the subway downtown, just because I'm kinda tired. On my way down the stairs I see a backpack sitting at the bottom of the stairs all by itself and I really didn't think anything of it other than someone will be looking for that. Funny that none of these homeless people picked it up. Then as I walked away and down another flight of stairs I realized that I just "saw something." There are posters all over the train stations and bus terminals, "If you see something, say something." As I get to the bottom of the stairs I see 2 NYPD. Well, I walk up to them and as I approach, the female officer kind of rolls her eyes. I'm sure she was expecting to be asked for directions. As soon as I told them what I saw, their eyes lit up. They started moving immediately and asked me to show them where the bag was. They took what I said very seriously. They said thanks and started jabbering on their radios. I then left hoping the bag was nothing more than a lost bag. I'm sure the NYPD gets dozens of such occurences daily and 99.9% of the time they turn out to be nothing. But...
