When I drive Katherine back to her Mom’s I always reach back to so we can hold hands for the last 5 minutes or so of the trip. Last night, she grabbed a hold of my hand with both hands and squeezed. It’s her favorite thing to do on those trips. She saw the rubber-band on my wrist that she gave me a couple of months ago. I haven’t taken it off once. She said, “You still have your bracelet on.” “Of course.” I replied “I never take it off.” She told me it was dirty and that she wanted to get me a new one. I said, “That’s fine, but I’m keeping this one forever.” She smiled and played with it the rest of the trip.
She’s been giving me rubber-bands “bracelets” for over a year. I have the first one taped in my Katherine diary. Speaking of, I’m way overdue on writing in it. Maybe tonight or on the train tomorrow.
