6/21/2004 10:10:33 AM|||Chench|||Yesterday was Fathers day and what a great day it was to be me. First of all, the kids. Gary and Katherine gave me the most awesome hand made gifts. I really was surprised, especially by Gary’s. he made me a book at school. He wrote all about me. What he likes about me, when we met, the things we do and how much he likes my new car.  Pictures on every page drawn by him and in a really handsome cover. It looks great in my room next to the tv. Katherine made me a tie. An orange tie!  It had sparkles and buttons and feathers glued to it. She wrapped it in a yellow envelope that she also made and it was covered with all kinds of bright shiny things too! I wore the tie for a couple of hours, but it didn’t make it to the restaurant though.

Of course we spent the day with my Dad. We got him a new digital camera. He was really surprised. That made me happy. I can’t say enough about my dad. Over the last 3 years he’s had to deal with so much from his two sons. For myself, I’m not sure if I’d be alive or sane if it wasn’t for him at this point. He’s been a steady rock when I needed him most. Leading by example. Strong, as always. He’s become a great Grandfather as well. He’s himself with the kids. He plays by teasing and he doesn’t deal with any crap. It’s how I was brought up and I’m sure the kids will benefit from him as I did. I said "what a great day to be me" at the begining of this post. I've had many great days. 35 years worth. Thanks Dad.

Well, the weather was awesome and we were outside all day. It couldn’t have been better. Really. I’m looking forward to father’s day next year already.
